Job Description

Job Title: Radiographer – Ultrasound & X-ray

Overall Responsibility

Reporting to the Radiology Manager, the successful candidate will ensure provision of effective, efficient, and quality imaging (Ultrasound and X‑ray) services in the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, undertake initial patient evaluation and provide diagnostic radiographs.
  • Perform, provide findings on ultrasound and Doppler examinations by capturing images of diagnostic value.
  • Ensure radiation safety measures and protection are observed to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety for patients, staff, and self.
  • Ensure scheduled maintenance and calibration of medical equipment are in place and followed.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and care of patients’ records.

Requirements

Education & Certification

  • Higher National Diploma in Ultrasound from a recognized institution.
  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Radiography.
  • Registered and licensed by the Kenya Nuclear Radiological Authority.
  • Member of a professional body, preferably SORK.

Experience

  • Two (2) years’ working experience in a similar position.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
