Role Overview
This leadership position places you in charge of Liquid Intelligent Technologies’ cloud, cybersecurity, and enterprise AI business in Kenya. You will own the commercial strategy, build high-value customer relationships, and make sure the company becomes the first choice for organisations looking to modernise through managed services and AI-powered transformation. Day to day, you balance revenue accountability with market building—leading a sales team, shaping go-to-market plans, and working closely with partners like Microsoft to grow the company’s share of the local cloud and AI market.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Kenyan sales and revenue targets for cloud, cybersecurity, and enterprise AI, tracking progress against business cases and adjusting plans when results lag.
- Position Liquid as a leading managed service provider and enterprise AI partner in Kenya, using marketing, events, and direct client engagement to raise market awareness.
- Lead co-selling initiatives with Microsoft and other strategic vendors, converting partner relationships into joint customer wins and referenceable deployments.
- Build and maintain reporting systems that give leadership clear visibility into cloud and AI product revenue, gross profit, and market share performance.
- Translate customer and market insight into actionable product and pricing recommendations, working alongside product managers and pricing teams to keep offers competitive.
- Act as the senior escalation point for major accounts and high-value cloud engagements, ensuring issues are resolved fast and customers remain satisfied.
- Develop the commercial calendar and cadence for the Kenya team—running monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reviews against budgeted targets.
- Recruit, manage, and motivate a diverse sales team, assigning individual quotas, supporting professional growth, and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline; an MBA or advanced qualification is an advantage.
- Cloud and AI certifications, ideally within the Microsoft ecosystem, demonstrating a strong technical grasp of modern solution architecture.
- At least five years in enterprise software, cloud, or cybersecurity sales, with a proven record of closing large deals and meeting aggressive revenue targets.
- Three or more years working on AI solutions, product development, or AI-centric sales initiatives, including an understanding of real-world enterprise AI use cases.
- Solid knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and AI application layers, plus the ability to explain these to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and sales operations, including pipeline analysis and forecasting.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to influence senior executives and external partners.
- Deep familiarity with the Kenyan cloud and AI market, including customer pain points, buying behaviour, and the local competitive landscape.
- Prior experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams, ideally across multiple solution areas.
