Role Overview
This graduate internship sits inside the aviation sector and is built for people who completed their studies recently and now want to turn academic knowledge into practical, workplace-ready output. Day to day, the intern works alongside experienced colleagues on live files — researching technical and policy questions, gathering evidence, and shaping it into documents the team can actually use. The position matters because it pairs structured support with genuine contribution: the tasks assigned help the wider team meet its deliverables, while the intern gains first-hand exposure to how the aviation industry really operates.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out desk research on aviation topics linked to the assigned area of work — regulatory developments, operational practices, market trends or technical standards — and summarise findings in a clear, properly sourced format.
- Draft and edit working documents such as briefing notes, background papers, correspondence and presentation slides, revising each version in line with feedback from supervisors.
- Collect, verify and organise quantitative or documentary material into spreadsheets, trackers and reference files that colleagues can rely on.
- Support the preparation and running of internal meetings, workshops or consultations, covering agendas, participant lists, note-taking and follow-up on action points.
- Coordinate with colleagues across teams to gather inputs, confirm deadlines and keep assigned workstreams moving on schedule.
- Review completed outputs for accuracy, consistency, formatting and factual detail before they are passed forward for clearance.
- Maintain a structured record of tasks, sources and progress, and present updates on completed work at regular check-ins.
- Take on additional project support as priorities shift, applying newly learned methods to unfamiliar subject matter.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A university degree awarded within the last four years.
- The degree must be relevant to the specific area of the internship being applied for.
- Additional professional qualifications, certifications or specialised training in the field are an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to adjust tone and level of detail for different audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, share information openly and support shared deadlines.
- Learning agility — the capacity to absorb new material quickly, take direction and apply feedback to the next task.
- Professional conduct, discretion and reliability when handling sensitive or confidential material.
- A demonstrated interest in the aviation industry, whether through studies, projects, volunteering or previous work, is an advantage.
