Job Title: Driver Grade III
We are seeking a competent and reliable Driver Grade III to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned vehicles, ensuring timely transportation of staff, goods, and materials in compliance with traffic regulations and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive assigned vehicles safely and responsibly, adhering to all traffic laws and organizational guidelines.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to ensure vehicle roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle servicing.
- Ensure the security and cleanliness of the vehicle at all times.
- Report any accidents, breakdowns, or traffic violations promptly to the supervisor.
- Perform minor vehicle repairs and routine maintenance as required.
- Provide support in loading and unloading of goods when necessary.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- Two years driving experience;
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Valid driving license free from any current endorsements and valid for any of the classes of vehicles which the officer is required to drive;
- First‑Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution;
- Certificate in Defensive Driving from Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III;
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.
