Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage various medical conditions in both companion and farm animals.
  • Perform professional surgical procedures and execute routine veterinary interventions.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and administer essential vaccinations for herd and pet health.
  • Manage emergency situations and provide high-level critical care for acute cases.
  • Interpret complex laboratory results, diagnostic imaging, and clinical findings.
  • Advise clients on preventive healthcare, specialized nutrition, and general animal welfare.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and clinical reports for all patients.
  • Supervise and mentor veterinary officers, interns, and clinical support staff.
  • Ensure strict compliance with veterinary regulations, safety standards, and facility protocols.
  • Participate in community outreach programs, farm visits, and animal welfare initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • Registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) as a Surgeon.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical diagnostics and veterinary surgical procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement.
  • Proven ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively within a clinical environment.
  • High level of computer literacy with proficiency in digital record-keeping and clinical reporting.
