Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage various medical conditions in both companion and farm animals.
- Perform professional surgical procedures and execute routine veterinary interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
- Prescribe appropriate medications and administer essential vaccinations for herd and pet health.
- Manage emergency situations and provide high-level critical care for acute cases.
- Interpret complex laboratory results, diagnostic imaging, and clinical findings.
- Advise clients on preventive healthcare, specialized nutrition, and general animal welfare.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records and clinical reports for all patients.
- Supervise and mentor veterinary officers, interns, and clinical support staff.
- Ensure strict compliance with veterinary regulations, safety standards, and facility protocols.
- Participate in community outreach programs, farm visits, and animal welfare initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB) as a Surgeon.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical diagnostics and veterinary surgical procedures.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team engagement.
- Proven ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively within a clinical environment.
- High level of computer literacy with proficiency in digital record-keeping and clinical reporting.
