Role Overview
As a Guest Event Expert, you are the behind-the-scenes force that keeps banquets, meetings, and special functions moving smoothly from first setup to final breakdown. Your day includes preparing event spaces, moving supplies, taking and delivering orders, and staying attentive to guests so every interaction feels polished and personal. This role matters because the details you manage—timing, presentation, safety, and service—help turn a routine event into a distinctive experience for guests and the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up event rooms and function spaces according to banquet event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, tableware, signage, and audiovisual equipment.
- Break down and reset spaces after events, returning furniture, equipment, and supplies to their correct storage areas.
- Transport event materials, food, beverages, and equipment safely between kitchens, storage rooms, and event venues.
- Take food and beverage orders from guests during events and deliver items promptly and accurately.
- Greet guests, answer questions about menu items or event logistics, and respond to requests with a helpful, professional tone.
- Coordinate with banquet servers, culinary staff, event planners, and supervisors to keep service timing and event flow on schedule.
- Keep event areas clean, organized, and safe by clearing debris, wiping surfaces, and following established safety and sanitation procedures.
- Follow uniform, grooming, and communication standards, and carry out other reasonable duties as assigned by event leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certificate or diploma in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a related field.
- At least one year of related work experience, ideally in a hotel or luxury service setting; experience in a five-star hotel is highly desirable.
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods throughout a shift.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Strong guest service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a calm approach under pressure.
- Comfort working as part of a team and following directions from event captains, managers, or supervisors.
- Understanding of safe work practices, quality standards, and professional appearance expectations.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Why Join
You will be part of a team that treats every event as a chance to create a distinctive guest experience, not just a routine service moment. The role offers variety—each shift can include setup, guest interaction, service, and breakdown—so you will build broad event and hospitality skills. You will work in an environment where safety, quality, teamwork, and professional presentation are expected and valued.
