Role Overview
This position centres on generating new revenue for the business through direct sales to corporate and institutional clients, while also nurturing a portfolio of existing accounts. Day to day, the role involves qualifying leads, preparing commercial proposals, delivering product presentations, and negotiating terms that align with both client needs and company targets. Success in this role directly influences the organisation's growth trajectory and its reputation as a dependable partner in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and pursue new business openings within corporate, institutional, and referral networks, converting prospects into paying clients.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, consistently progressing high-value deals through the sales cycle to closure.
- Conduct persuasive product demonstrations and tailored presentations to decision-makers, clearly articulating value and return on investment.
- Prepare accurate quotations, formal proposals, and contract documentation, negotiating terms to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
- Manage a portfolio of key accounts, conducting regular check-ins to measure satisfaction, resolve issues, and uncover expansion possibilities.
- Spot and act on upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing client relationships to maximise account lifetime value.
- Represent the company at industry exhibitions, networking functions, and client meetings to raise brand visibility and generate qualified interest.
- Monitor market conditions, competitor moves, and client feedback, feeding actionable insights back into the business to refine offerings and strategy.
- Maintain disciplined sales records, submitting weekly and monthly reports that track lead generation, closure rates, revenue achievements, and market observations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in corporate or institutional sales, with demonstrable success in pursuing and closing significant contracts.
- A consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas, supported by verifiable performance indicators.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage senior executives and negotiate at a high level.
- Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and relationship-building abilities, backed by a professional and polished demeanour.
- Self-motivated and target-driven, with strategic thinking skills and a solution-oriented approach to challenges.
- Capability to work independently with limited supervision, while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
- A valid driving licence is an added advantage, given the need for client visits and external meetings.
