Job Description

Role Overview

As a Sales Associate, you will serve as the primary brand representative for MAMLO FOODS across a variety of customer touchpoints, from retail counters and farmers' markets to pop-up events and digital channels. Your day-to-day work centers on direct selling, product demonstrations, and building lasting relationships with shoppers while also gathering real-time feedback that shapes product improvements and marketing efforts. This role matters because you are not just closing sales—you are expanding brand visibility, educating communities about the products, and contributing to the company's market growth in a hands-on way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage customers in person at retail outlets, pop-up stores, farmers' markets, and exhibitions, using persuasive communication to drive product awareness and sales.
  • Conduct live product demonstrations and taste-testing sessions to encourage trial and repeat purchases, while tailoring your pitch to different audiences.
  • Maintain attractive product displays and ensure proper stock levels at every sales point, rotating inventory and flagging shortages before they become issues.
  • Operate point-of-sale systems accurately, process transactions efficiently, and reconcile daily sales records with cash and digital payments.
  • Cultivate repeat business by building a rapport with customers, answering product questions, and offering personalized recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Gather customer insights and feedback on flavors, packaging, pricing, and buying habits, then document these findings for the marketing and product teams.
  • Support grassroots marketing initiatives, including coordinating with community networks, women's groups, or local organizations to expand reach and drive participation in brand activations.
  • Track sales performance and maintain up-to-date records using Excel or Google Sheets, providing weekly summaries that inform inventory planning and promotion strategies.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Sales and Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in sales, promotions, or any customer-facing role, ideally within the food, FMCG, or social enterprise sector.
  • Hands-on experience with grassroots marketing, retail selling, or working with community-based groups is highly valued.
  • Comfortable using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic recordkeeping tools such as Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Solid understanding of core sales processes, basic CRM practices, and stock-taking procedures.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect naturally with diverse customers and community partners.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, able to work in a fast-paced environment where daily routines often change based on event schedules and customer flow.
