Role Overview
This role sits at the intersection of product delivery, data insights, and customer growth. You will own the operational engine that turns product releases into measurable business outcomes, while personally driving paid acquisition campaigns that bring in new subscribers. By handling quality assurance, integration coordination, performance reporting, and media buying, you free up senior leadership and engineering teams to focus on strategy and product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end quality assurance for product releases: define test scenarios, execute checks, document defects, and follow them through to resolution with development teams.
- Monitor and report on subscriber trends, acquisition funnel performance, product usage, and feature adoption, ensuring leadership always has an accurate view of what is working.
- Translate business priorities into clear product requirements, specifications, and task documentation that development teams can execute without ambiguity.
- Act as the operational bridge between product, engineering, revenue, marketing, and partnerships so that handoffs are smooth and delivery deadlines are met.
- Plan, launch, and manage paid acquisition campaigns across channels including paid social, programmatic, and app-install networks, handling budget allocation and bid strategy personally.
- Track and optimize acquisition economics including CPI, CAC, and LTV, adjusting campaigns and channel mix to improve return on ad spend.
- Coordinate integrations with telecommunications, billing, payment, and technology partners, managing requirements, testing, implementation, and go-live checklists.
- Build and maintain performance dashboards that consolidate product, campaign, and subscription data, then convert those insights into actionable recommendations for growth and operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in product operations, growth, performance marketing, or digital operations within a mobile-first or digital subscription business.
- Hands-on media buying experience is non-negotiable: you must have personally set up campaigns, managed paid advertising budgets, monitored acquisition costs, and optimized channels based on performance data.
- Deep familiarity with acquisition metrics such as CPI, CAC, LTV, conversion rates, and the unit economics behind customer growth.
- Strong analytical ability using Google Analytics, ad platform dashboards, and other digital performance tools to identify trends and drive decisions.
- Experience coordinating product development, software releases, testing cycles, or technology integrations, ideally with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational and process-management skills, with a proven ability to independently build documentation, workflows, and tracking systems from scratch.
- Comfort working in a lean, fast-paced environment where you own outcomes rather than waiting for direction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders across technical and commercial teams.
- Prior exposure to African digital, mobile, telecommunications, subscription, or technology products is an added advantage but not essential.
