Strategic Objective

We are seeking a highly organized, physically energetic Line Attendant to anchor our front-of-house retail displays and stock floor efficiency. Your primary focus will be to ensure our shelves remain perfectly arranged, fully stocked, and visually appealing to optimize the daily shopping experience. This position bridges meticulous visual merchandising with proactive customer engagement; you will guide retail floor flow from unpacking morning deliveries and executing structural stock rotations through to final aisle sanitation. The role demands a disciplined professional who understands fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) workflows and can seamlessly maintain store order under minimal direct supervision.

Scope of Responsibilities

Shelf Merchandising & Inventory Freshness

• Arrange, stack, and align store products neatly on assigned display racks in strict compliance with corporate merchandising standards.

• Ensure every item features an accurate, legible price tag and is correctly "faced" forward to maximize visual appeal.

• Monitor product volume across active shopping zones, pulling replacement goods from the storeroom to replenish empty slots.

• Execute strict product rotation protocols utilizing the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) methodology to prevent stock expiration on display lines.

Floor Walk Customer Assistance

• Greet floor shoppers warmly, assisting them in navigating the facility and locating specific items efficiently.

• Provide accurate, basic operational details regarding product availability, ongoing promotions, and specific brand placements.

• Maintain an exceptionally courteous, supportive, and helpful posture at all times to elevate consumer satisfaction metrics.

• Smoothly route customers toward the point-of-sale terminal or relevant section heads when advanced inquiries emerge.

Aisle Maintenance & Structural Cleanliness

• Maintain pristine cleanliness across structural shelves, pedestrian aisles, and overall floor quadrants.

• Dust product containers, clear out debris, and systematically flatten and remove empty packaging cartons from the shopping floor.

• Inspect product integrity constantly, ensuring visible display units are spotlessly clean, untorn, and presentable.

• Monitor floor spaces continuously, identifying and reporting safety hazards, liquid spills, or structural anomalies to supervisors.

Logistics Support & General Operations

• Assist warehouse teams in receiving, counting, unboxing, and sorting inbound supplier delivery consignments.

• Transport newly delivered merchandise safely from loading docks to back-office storage or designated floor displays.

• Flag high-velocity, fast-moving consumer lines and low-stock categories early to assist procurement supervisors.

• Audit inventory pipelines systematically to isolate, extract, and document expired, leaking, or compromised items.

• Provide dynamic floor support to cashiers and checkout counters during peak operational traffic loops.

Qualifications & Prerequisites

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Minimum of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate.

• Experience: Previous foundational experience working within a minimart, retail outlet, or commercial supermarket is highly advantageous.

• Physical Fitness: Excellent physical conditioning, with the manual stamina required for prolonged standing, frequent lifting, and continuous movement.

• Service Mindset: Functional communication and listening skills suited for boardroom floor interactions with diverse customers.
