Job Description

Role Overview

This internship offers a hands-on opportunity for students or recent graduates in accounting or business to immerse themselves in the day-to-day financial operations of a professional organisation. You will work closely with experienced mentors, supporting real projects that directly impact departmental efficiency and accuracy. Your contributions will range from routine documentation to active participation in analysis, giving you a solid foundation for a career in finance or business administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payment vouchers, ensuring all documentation is accurate and kept up to date.
  • Help reconcile bank statements and ledgers by cross-checking entries and flagging discrepancies for senior team members.
  • Support the preparation of reports, budgets, or presentations for internal stakeholders using spreadsheet and accounting software.
  • Collaborate with different departments to collect data, verify figures, and ensure timely processing of financial transactions.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and ensure that all files and records are stored and organised according to company policy.
  • Undertake research and administrative tasks that contribute to process improvement or operational efficiency within the finance function.
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously, adjusting priorities as directed by your supervisor.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions when asked, gaining insight into how business decisions are made.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing, or have recently completed, a degree or diploma in Accounts, Finance, or a Business-related qualification from a recognised institution.
  • Strong proficiency in computer applications, particularly spreadsheet software, with a high level of technical and digital competence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external contacts.
  • Outstanding organisational abilities and attention to detail, enabling accurate handling of documentation and data.
  • Demonstrated integrity, honesty, and confidentiality—especially when dealing with sensitive financial or corporate information.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and resilient, comfortable with changing priorities, flexible working hours, and occasional travel or after-hours support if required.
  • Strong ownership of tasks and a results-driven mindset, with the willingness to learn quickly and take on new challenges.
