Role Overview
This position is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through offboarding, ensuring all HR operations align with Kenyan labour regulations and internal policies. On a daily basis, you will coordinate hiring processes, advise managers on employee relations and performance matters, and maintain accurate personnel records while supporting payroll, leave, and compliance activities. Your work directly supports organisational efficiency by reducing legal risk, improving staff engagement, and enabling data-driven workforce decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for multiple roles, including drafting job descriptions, sourcing candidates, screening, interviewing, and extending offers.
- Facilitate structured onboarding and induction programmes to integrate new hires smoothly into the organisation.
- Maintain and update employee records, HR files, and the HR information system to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support performance management cycles by coordinating appraisals, goal setting, and feedback sessions with line managers.
- Advise managers on Kenyan labour law compliance, disciplinary procedures, and grievance handling to minimise legal exposure.
- Prepare periodic HR reports and workforce analytics to inform staffing, turnover, and productivity decisions.
- Coordinate internal training sessions, external development programmes, and employee wellness initiatives to build capability and morale.
- Assist with payroll preparation, statutory deductions, leave administration, and attendance tracking in line with company policy and legal requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a closely related field.
- At least three years of progressive HR experience, with exposure to full-cycle recruitment and employee relations.
- Experience in a consulting, professional services, or fast-paced advisory environment is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of Kenyan labour laws, including the Employment Act, and ability to apply them to real-world scenarios.
- Active membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing.
- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) qualification is mandatory.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and the full Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel for reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to draft clear policies, conduct training sessions, and handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism.
