Job Description

Role Overview

This role is embedded at a single worksite where the primary mission is to help local leadership build and sustain a strong Health, Safety and Environment culture. Day to day, you will serve as a trusted advisor to line managers, guiding them through HSE risks, regulatory obligations, and internal standards while also conducting hands-on audits, incident investigations, and training sessions. Your work directly reduces operational hazards and ensures the site meets both corporate and host-country HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach managers on how to integrate HSE policies and objectives into their daily supervisory duties, making safety a natural part of line ownership.
  • Translate the corporate HSE Management System into site-level procedures, work instructions, and checklists, then monitor their consistent use.
  • Lead or participate in risk assessments across the location, advising on controls and helping teams document local hazards.
  • Prepare, track, and update site-specific HSE plans that outline how the overall management system is implemented day to day.
  • Conduct compliance audits, self-audits, and follow-ups to confirm adherence to policies, standards, and regulatory codes.
  • Coordinate HSE screening and training for all personnel, from new hires to seasoned staff, ensuring skill gaps are closed.
  • Support line management in root-cause investigations of incidents, near misses, and equipment failures, then recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyse location-level HSE data to spot trends, report findings to management, and propose improvements to the overall program.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of hands-on HSE experience in an industrial or operational setting, ideally within the energy sector.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, Environment, or a closely related discipline.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex HSE concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting, presentations, and data tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new regulations and internal standards quickly and turn that knowledge into practical, on-the-ground solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and comfort working independently to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
  • Willingness to follow all company policies, including quality, HSE, and personnel standards without exception.
  • Previous experience in oil, gas, or other energy industry roles is a strong plus.
