Job Description

Role Overview

This position is responsible for the day-to-day movement of goods and materials across residential and other assigned delivery points, operating inside a structured logistics operation. You will be the final link between distribution and the end user, ensuring shipments arrive on time, intact, and with a professional touch. Your work directly supports mission readiness and the wellbeing of personnel and families stationed in an austere overseas environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned delivery vehicles—both government-furnished and contractor-provided—in a safe, defensive manner while adhering to all route schedules and local traffic laws.
  • Load, brace, secure, and unload cargo using proper techniques that prevent damage to goods and injury to yourself or others.
  • Verify delivery manifests, confirm item counts, and obtain accurate signatures or proof-of-delivery documentation from recipients.
  • Inspect vehicles before each shift, checking brakes, tires, fluids, lights, and other critical systems, and immediately report any mechanical deficiencies to the appropriate maintenance authority.
  • Maintain thorough daily logs covering mileage, fuel usage, delivery times, and any incidents or delays encountered on the road.
  • Communicate with dispatch or supervisory staff about route changes, delivery complications, or safety concerns that require escalation.
  • Provide courteous, respectful service to customers and respond to delivery-related questions or issues in a prompt and professional manner.

Requirements & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license that satisfies applicable DMV standards, or a foreign license with documented equivalency to U.S. licensing requirements.
  • Hold a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) matching the class and size of the vehicle operated, if that vehicle is larger than a standard pick-up truck.
  • Demonstrate a record of safe driving and proficiency in maneuvering commercial vehicles under varied road conditions.
  • Show strong time-management ability and consistency in meeting scheduled delivery windows.
  • Maintain accurate attention to detail when completing delivery records, inspection forms, and mileage logs.
  • Physically perform loading, securing, and unloading tasks in compliance with safety standards and lifting guidelines.
  • Read, speak, and understand English well enough to fulfill contract duties and follow base emergency procedures.
  • Hold a passport valid for at least one year from the date of hire.
  • Eligible to obtain country-specific visas as required by the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
  • Pass all contract-mandated medical examinations and stay compliant for the entire assignment.
  • Successfully obtain and maintain facility credentials or base access authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior work experience in an austere OCONUS setting alongside a multi-national workforce.
  • Familiarity with military or government logistics and delivery procedures.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle preventive maintenance practices and roadworthiness checks.

Why Join

This role offers the chance to put your driving skills to work in a challenging overseas environment where reliability directly affects daily life for a stationed community. You will become part of a logistics team that supports government operations, with the kind of operational independence and responsibility that comes from managing deliveries in remote or high-demand conditions.
