Role Overview

This role keeps the company’s operations on schedule by moving authorized staff, equipment, and goods safely between locations in Nairobi and beyond. The driver spends the day reading traffic conditions, choosing practical routes, checking the assigned vehicle, and making sure every load arrives intact and on time. The position matters because dependable transport protects the company’s reputation, controls fuel and maintenance costs, and keeps teams supplied without disruption.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive company vans, pickups, and light trucks through Nairobi’s urban network and on out-of-town assignments, following approved routes and adjusting when congestion, roadworks, or other delays make an alternative sensible.
• Work out the most practical sequence for daily drops and pickups, balancing time, distance, fuel use, and delivery windows.
• Obey Kenyan road traffic rules, NTSA speed limits, and all applicable safety requirements, including load and passenger limits.
• Oversee or help with loading and unloading, making sure items are handled carefully, stacked sensibly, and secured with suitable tie-downs before the vehicle moves.
• Carry out pre-trip inspections of oil, coolant, tyre pressure, brakes, lights, and other essentials, and keep the vehicle clean inside and out.
• Book or flag routine servicing, and report mechanical faults or damage to management without delay.
• Keep NTSA inspection stickers, insurance, and road licences valid and visibly displayed on the vehicle.
• Complete mileage logbooks, delivery notes, receipts, and related records accurately after each trip, and take on other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid NTSA driving licence in Class B, C1, or C.
• At least four years of verifiable commercial driving experience in Nairobi.
• Current Certificate of Good Conduct/Police Clearance Certificate.
• Clean driving record with no unacceptable traffic or safety violations.
• Strong working knowledge of Kenyan road safety regulations and safe driving practices.
• Confident navigation of Nairobi routes, including common bottlenecks and alternative roads.
• Basic mechanical or troubleshooting ability to recognise vehicle problems early.
• Reliable, punctual, and honest approach to handling goods, passengers, and delivery documentation.
