Employment Nature: Full-time

Location: Homabay, Kenya

Primary Mandate

We are seeking a high-energy Field Coordinator to bridge the gap between our central strategy and grassroots impact. Your objective is to make corrective eyewear accessible and affordable by driving sales execution and providing robust support to our distribution partners. This role is a hybrid of business development and community advocacy; you will onboard new retail channels, train health workers, and organize high-footfall outreach events. By strengthening our "last-mile" presence in Homabay, you will directly contribute to reducing preventable vision impairment and improving the economic livelihoods of those we serve.

Functional Responsibilities

Business Growth & Partner Development

  • Achieve aggressive monthly sales targets through active field selling and the recruitment of new channels (pharmacies, clinics, and micro-entrepreneurs).

  • Enhance product visibility and merchandising at partner outlets to maximize brand awareness.

  • Serve as the primary regional contact, addressing partner challenges and reinforcing long-term commercial relationships.

  • Monitor competitor dynamics and provide regular market intelligence reports to inform regional strategy.

Training & Community Activation

  • Conduct technical onboarding for partner staff on product usage, custom fitting, and sales techniques.

  • Lead community outreach activities in schools, markets, and churches to raise awareness for affordable eye care.

  • Gather impactful field data, including customer testimonials and success stories, to support marketing efforts.

  • Deliver tailored business management and customer service training to empower local entrepreneurs.

Logistics & Operational Reporting

  • Coordinate the seamless distribution of products to field locations and maintain accurate stock records.

  • Track partner performance and sales trends, submitting detailed reports to the central management team.

  • Ensure all field activations strictly adhere to company branding standards and ethical guidelines.

  • Analyze customer feedback to identify emerging market opportunities and service delivery improvements.

Expertise Profile

The Essentials

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Public Health, or Community Development.

  • Domain Expertise: At least 2 years of experience in field sales, business development, or community engagement.

  • Sector Background: Prior experience in FMCG, healthcare, or social enterprise sectors is highly desirable.

  • Language: Professional fluency in both English and Swahili.

Professional Competencies

  • Strategic Thinker: You can solve complex field problems and identify growth opportunities in diverse environments.

  • Effective Communicator: You are skilled at negotiation and can build rapport with local leaders and micro-entrepreneurs alike.

  • Execution-Focused: You thrive in a fast-paced "scale-up" environment and are comfortable with frequent field travel.

  • Detail-Oriented: You maintain high standards in reporting, stock management, and operational compliance.

The Opportunity

  • Meaningful Impact: Play a pivotal role in solving the world's largest unmet disability.

  • Dynamic Environment: Work within a fast-growing, award-winning social enterprise.

  • Performance Rewards: Enjoy a base salary supplemented by commissions and performance bonuses based on your growth success.
