Role Overview
This position supports the Head of Department in running the full examination cycle, from draft paper collection through to approved results. The role protects academic standards by keeping exam processes compliant, secure, and on schedule. It also matters because students, guardians, parents, and other stakeholders rely on fair, well-organised assessments and timely outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Track and prompt the timely delivery of draft examination papers from lecturers, following up on outstanding submissions.
- Send draft papers through internal and external moderation, then confirm that every recommended correction is applied before final sign-off.
- Oversee exam paper setting, proofreading, and finalisation, including secure printing and controlled distribution to examination venues.
- Create departmental examination timetables and invigilation schedules that align with institutional requirements.
- Supervise examination sessions to ensure regulations are followed, and coordinate the return of completed answer booklets for marking.
- Monitor coursework issue, assessment, marking, and submission cycles so they stay within required timelines.
- Arrange post-examination moderation of marked scripts and results, then compile outcomes for presentation to the Departmental and Faculty Examination Boards.
- Maintain accurate examination records and uphold institutional examination policies, quality assurance standards, and confidentially requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related area from an accredited university.
- At least three years of experience in a similar role at a private university.
- Demonstrated potential for leadership.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the university.
- Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the capacity to manage multiple deadlines and confidential materials.
- Careful attention to detail for proofreading examination papers and maintaining accurate records.
