Role Overview
As the Admissions Officer, you are the first point of contact for families exploring the school, guiding them from initial enquiry through to a confirmed place. You keep the admissions pipeline moving by coordinating assessments, communicating clearly with parents, and making sure every applicant receives a timely, professional response. Your work directly shapes how the school is perceived and ensures enrolment targets, record-keeping, and confidentiality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the admissions pipeline from initial enquiry to enrolment, tracking applications, following up with families, and contributing to agreed enrolment targets.
- Welcome prospective families and students, lead school tours, and direct them to the relevant curriculum and leadership staff.
- Provide accurate information about the school, including fees and programme details, and maintain timely follow-up by phone and email.
- Coordinate with the National Curriculum Coordinator, Junior Secondary School Coordinator, Head Teacher, and Deputy Head Teacher to ensure families receive relevant curriculum and programme information.
- Facilitate the administration of admission exams and liaise with the Learning Support team when a prospective learner may require assessment or support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including demographics and academic data, and keep the School Information System updated in a timely manner.
- Prepare admission letters, print and file end-of-semester reports, and produce transcripts and other academic documents for current and former students.
- Manage the student file archive and provide regular admissions and enrolment reports to the Head Teachers.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Admissions, Education Administration, Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related field.
- At least two years of relevant experience in admissions, school administration, customer service, or a similar role.
- Previous experience working in a school environment is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with a School Information System or other student information database is an added advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging prospective families and collaborating with staff.
- Ability to handle confidential information with accuracy and discretion, and to stay organised while managing multiple applications and deadlines.
