Job Description

Role Overview

This position is the central link between City Eye Hospital and the wider healthcare community. Day to day, you will visit referring practitioners and institutions, nurture long-term professional relationships, and champion the hospital's clinical strengths to drive a steady increase in patient referrals. Your work directly supports the hospital's growth by ensuring that ophthalmology and specialist services are top-of-mind for every potential referral source in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain trusted partnerships with doctors, optometrists, clinical officers, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare organisations, acting as the hospital's dedicated point of contact for all physician-related matters.
  • Design and run a structured engagement calendar that includes regular in-person visits, follow-up communications, and tailored presentations to each referral partner's needs.
  • Identify and onboard new referral sources, expanding the hospital's reach through targeted outreach, networking, and participation in professional healthcare events, conferences, and forums.
  • Monitor referral data to spot trends, uncover untapped opportunities, and recommend data-informed strategies for growing referral volume across different specialties.
  • Coordinate rapid, professional responses to any questions or concerns raised by referring providers, ensuring they feel valued and supported at every touchpoint.
  • Collect feedback from physicians and referring staff, then translate that insight into actionable improvements in patient handoff, communication, and continuity of care.
  • Maintain a clean, up-to-date CRM database logging every interaction, engagement, and referral outcome, and produce weekly and monthly performance reports for leadership.
  • Work closely with marketing, clinical services, customer experience, and operations teams so that demand generation is aligned with the hospital's actual capacity and service delivery standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Nursing, Clinical Medicine, or another health-related field, combined with solid hands-on experience in healthcare business development or physician relations.
  • At least three years of professional experience in healthcare business development, physician liaison work, account management, or hospital marketing.
  • Established experience working inside a hospital or multi-provider clinical environment, understanding the dynamics of clinician referrals and patient pathways.
  • Proven ability to manage professional relationships with senior medical professionals and institutional stakeholders with tact and confidence.
  • Hands-on familiarity with CRM systems and the ability to compile clear, accurate management reports from raw interaction and referral data.
  • Strong networking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, paired with a professional, approachable demeanour when representing the hospital in any setting.
