Role Overview
This combined quality assurance and technical documentation position supports the delivery of dependable software systems across aviation and government-facing projects. Day to day, you will validate that applications behave as expected, dig into edge cases, and turn every test result into clear records that developers, project leaders, and external stakeholders rely on. Your work will give each release the evidence it needs to pass internal review and external scrutiny.
Key Responsibilities
- Build structured test cases from functional specifications and business rules, then run them manually or through automated scripts depending on project needs.
- Exercise web applications across functional, regression, and integration scenarios, paying close attention to workflows tied to licensing, certification, and compliance.
- Use Jira or similar platforms to log defects, track their lifecycle, and confirm completed fixes before a release moves forward.
- Own the full documentation side of QA, keeping test plans, traceability matrices, defect summaries, and release reports current and consistent.
- Write practical user guides and process documents that translate technical results into clear instructions for non-technical readers and client audiences.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project leads to uncover ambiguous requirements early and decide what should be covered in each test cycle.
- Follow recognized testing frameworks and internal templates so every artifact remains audit-ready and easy to navigate during compliance reviews.
- Provide regular status updates during agile ceremonies and flag risks that could affect delivery dates or software quality.
Requirements & Qualifications
You should have hands-on experience in a role that blends software quality assurance with technical writing, or a strong foundation in one area supported by a proven ability to handle the other.
- Real-world experience designing and executing tests for web-based applications, with attention to how systems behave under normal and unexpected conditions.
- Comfortable using defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, TestRail, or comparable platforms.
- Strong command of written English, with a demonstrated ability to produce clear, logically structured documents for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Working knowledge of QA principles and internationally recognised testing frameworks, including traceability and structured test documentation practices.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage several testing streams and associated documents without losing accuracy.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience on software projects for government, aviation, or other heavily regulated sectors.
- Familiarity with certification, licensing, or audit-driven processes that impose strict documentation requirements.
- Experience working within distributed teams and with international clients.

This role gives you a visible position at the intersection of quality testing and technical communication. You will have the chance to shape how test coverage is planned, executed, and reported across the entire project lifecycle, while gaining valuable exposure to industries where precision and accountability matter most.
