Job Description

Role Overview

This position centres on safeguarding and elevating care standards across a hospital environment by owning the operational side of quality management. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will spend your days translating regulatory expectations into practical workflows, guiding department heads through audit readiness, and turning incident data into improvements that directly affect patient outcomes. Your work matters because it creates the systems and habits that keep clinical and support teams aligned, accountable, and consistently safe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the day-to-day execution and ongoing refinement of the hospital-wide Quality Management System, ensuring it remains practical, current, and embedded in daily operations.
  • Lead patient safety and continuous improvement projects, from initial scoping through staff engagement and measurable outcome tracking.
  • Plan and conduct internal quality audits across clinical and non-clinical departments, documenting findings and guiding corrective actions to closure.
  • Analyse quality performance data—including incident reports, infection control metrics, and patient feedback—and present clear, actionable summaries to hospital leadership.
  • Coordinate responses to external accreditation and regulatory surveys, preparing documentation and briefing teams on expected standards.
  • Facilitate root-cause analyses for adverse events or near misses, ensuring investigation findings translate into sustainable process changes.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops that strengthen staff understanding of quality principles, safety reporting, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Collaborate with departmental leads to identify operational risks and implement preventive measures that support both clinical excellence and service reliability.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, pharmacy, public health, or another health-related discipline; a Master's in Healthcare Quality, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health is strongly preferred.
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in healthcare quality management, with demonstrable leadership of quality improvement initiatives inside a hospital or large multi-specialty clinic.
  • Professional certification in healthcare quality (e.g., CPHQ), quality management, or ISO auditing is highly desirable and signals readiness for the role.
  • Solid working knowledge of healthcare accreditation frameworks, regulatory compliance standards, and patient safety protocols.
  • Strong analytical judgement, capable of interpreting complex data sets and communicating findings to diverse audiences.
  • Proven facilitation and influencing skills, comfortable challenging the status quo while building consensus among multidisciplinary teams.
  • A meticulous, ethical work style with a genuine commitment to transparency, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
