Role Overview
This role is responsible for delivering competency-based technical training to students pursuing vocational qualifications. You will combine classroom instruction with hands-on practical sessions, ensuring learners develop the skills and knowledge required for certification and direct entry into the workforce. Your work directly supports the institution's commitment to quality training and compliance with national technical education standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver theoretical and practical training sessions in line with the approved curriculum and TVETA requirements.
- Conduct demonstrations and supervise learners during workshop, laboratory, or field-based practice to ensure skill mastery.
- Develop, review, and update learning materials, lesson plans, and assessment tools to reflect current industry practice.
- Assess learners through continuous and summative evaluations, maintaining accurate records of progress and achievement.
- Enforce health, safety, and workshop conduct regulations, promoting a safe and disciplined learning environment.
- Identify learners requiring additional support and provide remedial coaching or guidance as needed.
- Maintain training equipment, tools, and consumables, reporting faults and coordinating repairs or replacements.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality assurance audits, and institutional accreditation activities.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma, Higher National Diploma, or Degree in a relevant technical or vocational discipline.
- Valid TVETA Trainers License (Compulsory) with endorsement for the relevant training level.
- Practical industry or teaching experience in the relevant trade or subject area.
- Familiarity with competency-based education and training (CBET) approaches and assessment methods.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in maintaining training records and using basic computer applications.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to professional ethics.
