Job Description

Role Overview

This role is part of the ICT teaching team at Muraga Technical Training Institute, where you will help students build the practical and theoretical skills they need to succeed in technology-driven workplaces. On a typical day, you will lead classroom and laboratory sessions, develop learning resources, assess student work, and guide learners through hands-on projects that connect ICT concepts to real-world application.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver ICT lessons that cover both foundational concepts and practical applications.
  • Develop teaching notes, assignments, and hands-on exercises that align with the institute’s curriculum.
  • Supervise computer laboratory sessions, supporting students as they work on tasks and troubleshooting problems.
  • Assess student performance through tests, practical projects, and continuous evaluation.
  • Provide individual guidance to learners who need extra support in specific ICT areas.
  • Contribute to curriculum reviews and departmental meetings to keep programmes relevant and effective.
  • Help maintain ICT training resources, including software, hardware, and lab equipment inventory.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Information Communication Technology.
  • Solid working knowledge of ICT fundamentals such as operating systems, networking, databases, and productivity software.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills, with the ability to explain technical topics clearly.
  • Good organisational skills for lesson planning, record-keeping, and assessment reporting.
  • Ability to relate well to students from diverse backgrounds and support their individual learning needs.
