Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Communication Technology, or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. (One position is reserved for a candidate with a Diploma Certificate.)
• Background training in Competency-Based Education (CBET).
• Pedagogy and TVETA Registration and Licensing will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated competence in ICT instruction, practical training, and learner assessment.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Reliability and high integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus.
• Preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work.
• Setting and marking examinations/assignments.
• Supervision of trainees on attachment.
• Instructing, guiding, and evaluating trainees in practical exercises.
• Reporting progress and overall performance of individual trainees.
• Participating in the development of curriculum and training programmes.
• Undertaking and carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer.
• Delivering competency-based training in ICT programmes.
• Preparing lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
• Maintaining training records and workshop/laboratory equipment.

Important Notes

• There are two (2) Trainer positions available in the ICT Department. Candidates will be considered separately based on their academic qualifications. One (1) position is reserved for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree, while the other is reserved for a candidate with a Diploma Certificate.
