Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Information Communication Technology, or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. (One position is reserved for a candidate with a Diploma Certificate.)
- Background training in Competency-Based Education (CBET).
- Pedagogy and TVETA Registration and Licensing will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated competence in ICT instruction, practical training, and learner assessment.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and high integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertaking training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus.
- Preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work.
- Setting and marking examinations/assignments.
- Supervision of trainees on attachment.
- Instructing, guiding, and evaluating trainees in practical exercises.
- Reporting progress and overall performance of individual trainees.
- Participating in the development of curriculum and training programmes.
- Undertaking and carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer.
- Delivering competency-based training in ICT programmes.
- Preparing lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials.
- Maintaining training records and workshop/laboratory equipment.
Important Notes
- There are two (2) Trainer positions available in the ICT Department. Candidates will be considered separately based on their academic qualifications. One (1) position is reserved for a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree, while the other is reserved for a candidate with a Diploma Certificate. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the position that matches their qualifications.
- Shortlisted candidates with qualifications acquired outside Kenya should obtain recognition from the Commission for University Education (CUE).
