Title: Temporary Sales Assistant (2 Days Per Week)

Role Mandate

We are seeking a highly professional and mobile Temporary Sales Assistant to represent a premium brand in the baby care and maternal health sector. Operating two days per week, this role is a strategic blend of retail merchandising and medical detailing. You will be responsible for ensuring our products are well-stocked and visible in retail outlets while simultaneously building high-value relationships with healthcare professionals in hospitals and maternity centers. This is a perfect opportunity for a seasoned pharmaceutical sales professional looking for a flexible, high-impact engagement in the Westlands area.

Functional Responsibilities

Field Sales & Retail Optimization

  • Execute regular visits to retail pharmacies and outlets to audit stock levels and ensure premium merchandising standards.

  • Identify inventory gaps and proactively coordinate with distribution teams for immediate replenishment.

  • Enhance brand presence through strategic product placement and visibility checks within assigned territories.

Healthcare & Clinical Engagement

  • Conduct professional detailing sessions with healthcare practitioners in clinics and maternity centers.

  • Educate medical professionals on the benefits and applications of specialized baby care and maternal health products.

  • Expand and nurture a network of professional contacts within the Nairobi healthcare ecosystem to drive long-term brand trust.

Operational Support & Marketing

  • Facilitate the order-to-delivery process, ensuring clients receive their stock accurately and on time.

  • Support field-based marketing activations and in-store promotional campaigns as required.

  • Monitor competitor pricing and shelf-share, providing real-time market intelligence to management.

Documentation & Insight

  • Submit comprehensive weekly reports detailing outlet status, professional engagements, and inventory movements.

  • Analyze customer feedback and market trends to suggest improvements for field strategies.

Requirements & Competencies

Professional Background

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical or Pharmaceutical sales is mandatory.

  • Sector Expertise: Prior experience in the baby care or maternal health sector will be a significant advantage.

  • Network: Strong existing knowledge of Nairobi’s retail and healthcare networks, particularly within Westlands.

Key Skills

  • Sales Prowess: Proven negotiation and persuasion skills within a clinical or pharmaceutical setting.

  • Autonomy: Highly self-motivated and capable of managing a field itinerary independently.

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage both retail managers and medical specialists.
