Role Overview
Based in Embakasi, Nairobi, the Social Media Manager will run the company’s day-to-day presence on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, from planning posts and producing content to responding to the community. The role combines creative storytelling with performance analysis, helping turn online attention into customer enquiries, stronger engagement and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and publish content across TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, using channel-appropriate formats and schedules.
- Create short-form videos, stories, promotional graphics and product carousels, including scripting and basic editing.
- Write clear, persuasive captions and calls to action in English and Kiswahili, adapting the message to the intended audience.
- Work with internal teams to collect product information, footage and other material for authentic social content.
- Build monthly content calendars around marketing priorities, seasonal promotions and relevant online trends.
- Monitor emerging formats, audio and platform changes to inform content choices and increase organic reach.
- Respond to comments, direct messages and other enquiries promptly, and encourage participation through polls and user-generated content activities.
- Review reach, impressions, engagement, follower growth and clicks; prepare monthly reports with practical recommendations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least two years of professional experience managing social media accounts for an organisation or business.
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Digital Media, Journalism or a related discipline.
- Practical experience producing TikTok videos or Instagram Reels, and scheduling content through Meta Business Suite.
- Strong written English and Kiswahili, with the ability to create engaging copy and effective calls to action.
- Basic video-editing skills, a good eye for visual composition and awareness of current digital and pop-culture trends.
- Ability to interpret social platform analytics and use results to improve content and campaign planning.
