Role Overview
Create photography and video that show how solar energy solutions are designed, installed, and used. You’ll work with marketing, engineering, and sales colleagues to document field projects, explain technical products in accessible ways, and produce content for campaigns and digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Photograph residential and commercial solar installations, battery systems, technicians at work, client stories, and company events.
- Plan and film product demonstrations, installation sequences, customer testimonials, and educational videos at the office and on site.
- Choose suitable camera, lighting, stabilisation, and audio equipment for each shoot, and use it safely in field environments.
- Edit footage into polished videos, including sound, colour, captions, and motion graphics where appropriate.
- Prepare versions of finished content for different channels and formats, including horizontal, square, and vertical video.
- Create short-form social content such as installation clips, behind-the-scenes footage, and practical solar explainers.
- Coordinate shoots with marketing calendars and campaign deadlines, and manage several assignments through to delivery.
- Organise and maintain a searchable library of original and edited visual assets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in photography, film production, multimedia journalism, digital media, mass communication, or a related field.
- Practical experience in commercial photography, videography, content creation, or video editing; the source does not specify a minimum number of years.
- Confident operation of DSLR or mirrorless cameras, lenses, wireless audio equipment, gimbals, and lighting.
- Advanced working knowledge of at least one editing platform: Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- Familiarity with After Effects, Photoshop, or Lightroom is an advantage.
- Strong judgement in composition, colour, pacing, and visual narrative, with the ability to make technical subjects engaging to different audiences.
- Good planning and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with engineers and marketing teams and meet production deadlines.
- Experience in solar, construction, engineering, or technology content is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on site in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, and travel regularly to installation locations in Nairobi and nearby areas.
