Role Overview
This is a field-heavy sales position with a Nairobi-based real estate firm, where your main job is to turn interested prospects into confirmed buyers of land, residential units, and commercial property. You will spend your time hunting for new leads, meeting clients in person, presenting projects, showing them sites, negotiating payment terms, and pushing deals through to closure — all while reporting directly to the Managing Director. The work matters because every closed sale directly grows the company's revenue and market presence, and your performance will be measured on both monthly revenue targets and the strength of the client relationships you build along the way.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate a steady flow of qualified property leads through a mix of direct fieldwork, networking events, referrals from past clients, and targeted digital campaigns, then convert those leads into signed sales.
- Conduct persuasive property presentations for individual buyers and investor groups, covering project details, pricing, payment plans, market conditions, and the long-term value of the property.
- Lead physical site visits across Nairobi and its surrounding areas, guiding prospects through the property, answering on-the-spot questions, and handling objections with confidence.
- Own the full sales cycle from first call to handover: prepare offers, negotiate price and terms, coordinate contract signing with legal and finance teams, and follow through on payment collection.
- Represent the company at property open days, trade exhibitions, roadshows, and other marketing activations to increase brand visibility and capture new sales leads.
- Maintain an organised pipeline and customer relationship log, keeping track of every prospect, follow-up, transaction history, and client preference so no opportunity slips through.
- Monitor the local real estate market — competitor pricing, new developments, and shifts in buyer demand — and share these insights with the Managing Director to help shape sales strategy.
- Prepare and deliver weekly sales reports covering conversion rates, revenue forecasts, and performance against monthly targets, ensuring full transparency on pipeline health.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Sales & Marketing, Real Estate Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on sales experience, with a clear focus on real estate, property consultancy, or land sales rather than general consumer goods.
- A verifiable track record of consistently meeting or exceeding aggressive sales quotas, ideally supported by past employment references or sales records.
- Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills, with the ability to persuade high-net-worth investors and first-time buyers alike.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, plus the confidence to address groups, professionals, and corporate clients.
- Self-motivated and resilient, comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and managing the pressure of commission-linked earnings.
- Unquestionable professional integrity and a sound ethical approach to property transactions.
- A valid Kenyan driving licence is a distinct advantage, as the role requires frequent travel to project sites and client meetings.
