Role Overview
Based in South B, this full-time, on-site Pharmaceutical Technologist role provides day-to-day dispensing and patient support while keeping pharmacy stock and records in order. Reporting to the Lead Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager, you will help ensure patients receive the right medicines and clear guidance, while pharmacy operations meet Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and dispense prescribed medicines and over-the-counter products with care.
- Explain how to take and store medicines, including dosage, administration, possible side effects and relevant precautions.
- Provide respectful, confidential service and respond to patients’ questions within your professional scope.
- Receive and check deliveries, store products under appropriate conditions, and maintain cold-chain requirements where applicable.
- Monitor stock quantities, batch details and expiry dates; identify slow-moving items and help reduce avoidable losses.
- Carry out stock counts, reconcile inventory records and contribute information for purchase orders.
- Maintain dispensing registers, controlled-drug records and other required documentation, following Kenyan pharmacy regulations and safety procedures.
- Work with clinicians, nurses and pharmacy colleagues, and assist with routine cash reconciliation and medical insurance processing.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology or Pharmacy from a recognised training institution.
- Current practising licence issued by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
- At least two years of practical experience in a retail pharmacy, hospital or community clinic.
- Ability to use pharmacy management software, electronic point-of-sale systems and inventory tools.
- Careful prescription interpretation and dosage calculations, with strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Kenyan pharmacy legislation, controlled-medicine handling and pharmaceutical storage requirements.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to counsel patients professionally.
What We Offer / Why Join
The role offers monthly compensation of KSh 25,000–KSh 35,000. It is a full-time, on-site position in South B with shift operations.
