Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or equivalent) from a recognized institution
  • Valid medical practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience post internship
  • Strong clinical interest and exposure in:
  • Paediatrics
  • Surgical care and minor/major procedures support
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology (including emergency obstetric care)
  • Experience working in a busy private Level 4 hospital or comparable healthcare facility will be an added advantage
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnosis, and patient management skills
  • Ability to handle emergency cases with confidence and sound clinical judgement
  • Good communication, teamwork, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality patient care
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to both inpatient and outpatient clients
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments, diagnoses, and formulation of appropriate management plans
  • Participate actively in the management of paediatric, surgical, and obstetric cases
  • Manage emergency cases including stabilization and timely escalation when necessary
  • Support theatre procedures and obstetric interventions as part of the clinical team
  • Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and emergency department duties
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation and patient records
  • Work closely with consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, CMEs, and clinical audits
  • Uphold patient safety, infection prevention, and ethical medical practice standards at all times
