Role Overview
You will be the face of our educational technology solutions, working directly with schools across Nairobi and surrounding regions to drive product adoption and long-term partnerships. Day to day, you will map out high-potential institutions, arrange face-to-face meetings with school leadership, run live product demonstrations, and guide decision-makers through procurement and onboarding. Your work is central to our growth strategy: converting school administrators into confident users of our digital learning platforms and expanding our footprint in Kenya’s evolving education sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and map public and private schools within assigned territories, building a robust pipeline through field visits, referrals, educational forums, and cold outreach.
- Manage the complete institutional sales cycle from first contact to contract signing and subscription renewal, maintaining momentum across multi-stage approval processes.
- Deliver dynamic on-site product demonstrations and technical walkthroughs for headteachers, bursars, Board of Management members, and ICT committees.
- Prepare clear commercial proposals, pricing quotes, and tender responses that reflect each institution’s student capacity, budget, and technology readiness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with school administrative boards to secure contract renewals, upsell opportunities, and warm referrals.
- Coordinate with internal technical support and client success teams to ensure smooth software deployment, staff training, and platform activation after sign-off.
- Track all interactions, visit schedules, proposal statuses, and decision-maker contacts in the company CRM, and submit daily activity logs, weekly pipeline updates, and monthly revenue forecasts.
- Represent the organisation at educational expos, headteacher conferences, and regional EdTech workshops to strengthen brand recognition within the school community.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Information Technology, Education, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of verified field sales and marketing experience, specifically in selling products, platforms, or services directly to educational institutions.
- Solid understanding of Kenya’s education landscape, including governance structures in both private and public schools and typical institutional buying cycles.
- Previous experience in SaaS, ICT infrastructure, digital learning content, school management systems, or educational publishing is a strong advantage.
- Based in Nairobi and fully available to travel frequently to schools across the region on short notice.
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills, with the ability to command attention in front of school boards and technical committees.
- Strong negotiation capabilities, able to handle multi-stakeholder approval loops while keeping deals moving toward closure.
- Self-disciplined, organised, and mobile, with a proven record of managing several institutional negotiations simultaneously.
