Description:
A growing organization in the maritime and shipping industry is looking for a Junior Accountant to join its Finance team in Dubai. This full-time, office-based role is an excellent opportunity for accounting professionals with 1–2 years of experience who are eager to build their careers in an international maritime environment.
The selected candidate will support daily accounting operations, manage financial records, assist with reporting activities, and ensure accurate processing of financial transactions. Experience with Xero, Microsoft Excel, and a solid understanding of accounting principles will be essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions using Xero.
• Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities.
• Process invoices, payments, expenses, and financial documentation.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and closing activities.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documents.
• Support UAE VAT compliance and audit-related tasks.
• Prepare financial reports and analyze data using Microsoft Excel.
• Assist with accounting activities related to maritime and shipping operations.
Requirements:
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience using Xero is required.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, AP/AR, and account reconciliations.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations is an advantage.
• Experience in the maritime, shipping, logistics, or marine services industry is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Xero accounting software.
• Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365.
• Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and UAE VAT.
