Role Overview
This is a client-facing position that combines new-business generation with hands-on portfolio advisory at an established investment bank in Nairobi. Reporting to the Head of Wealth Management, you will source high-net-worth individuals and corporate decision-makers, present tailored investment propositions, then manage those relationships through the full client lifecycle — onboarding, compliance, execution, and quarterly portfolio reviews. It is a role built for someone who is comfortable in a commission-driven culture and wants to build an advisory career while owning both the hunt and the book.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a steady pipeline of prospective investors by working professional networks, referral partnerships, and targeted outreach to C-suite executives, business owners, and wealthy individuals.
- Lead face-to-face pitch meetings and structured corporate presentations that map client goals to instruments across fixed income, equities, offshore funds, unit trusts, and pension solutions.
- Steer clients through asset allocation decisions, weighing risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and long-term income objectives at every step.
- Take full ownership of client onboarding: collecting and verifying KYC documents, completing AML due diligence, and confirming investor suitability before any transaction proceeds.
- Coordinate fund placements and trade execution, liaising with internal operations and settlement functions to keep deals moving smoothly.
- Track portfolio performance and host structured quarterly reviews with existing clients, recommending rebalancing, profit-taking, or secondary placements as market conditions evolve.
- Monitor interest rate movements, economic indicators, and capital market developments to keep every recommendation current and defensible.
- Adhere strictly to Capital Markets Authority (CMA) regulations, anti-money laundering protocols, and internal governance standards across all client activity.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Open to entry-level and early-career candidates; prior exposure to investment advisory, capital markets, or insurance sales is an added advantage.
- Sound working knowledge of local and international investment products — fixed income, offshore structures, equities, unit trusts, and pension schemes.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for building financial presentations and maintaining pipeline reports.
- Excellent verbal presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to senior executives and high-net-worth investors.
- Proven ability to build trust, sustain long-term client relationships, and navigate corporate decision-making channels.
- High self-motivation, discipline, and resilience — essential for succeeding in a results-driven, commission-based wealth management environment.
What We Offer / Why Join
The compensation package rests on a KES 60,000 guaranteed monthly basic salary, complemented by corporate insurance and pension benefits. Earnings accelerate through an uncapped commission structure paying between 10% and 30% of revenue on closed business — with realistic first-year performers clearing KES 160,000+ monthly, and proven producers scaling past KES 400,000 per month. You will also work directly under senior investment leadership, gaining hands-on exposure to institutional-grade deal flow, high-net-worth clientele, and a clear path for career advancement within wealth management.
Qualified candidates should submit their application and updated CV to the hiring team at Dry Associates Investment Bank before 18 August 2026.
