Role Overview
This position is responsible for shaping the commercial direction of a hospitality operation by turning data into decisive pricing and inventory actions. On a daily basis, you will examine demand forecasts, review competitor behaviour, and adjust rate strategies to capture the right business at the right time. Your work directly influences revenue performance, market positioning, and the long-term financial health of the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and execute a revenue management plan that aligns with wider commercial goals, updating strategies as market conditions shift.
- Monitor key performance indicators, including RevPAR, ADR, and occupancy, and translate insights into practical recommendations for leadership.
- Set pricing across multiple distribution channels, balancing direct bookings, online travel agencies, and corporate accounts to maximise profitability.
- Maintain demand forecasts and budgets, revising them regularly based on booking pace, events, and seasonal trends.
- Control inventory availability and length-of-stay restrictions to reduce displacement and optimise yield.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and front office teams to ensure rate plans and promotional offers are implemented consistently.
- Carry out regular competitor and market analyses, then adjust positioning to retain a competitive edge.
- Ensure all revenue-related activities follow internal policies, brand service standards, and commercial guidelines.
Requirements & Qualifications
- At least five years of hands-on experience in revenue management, ideally gained within a hotel or multi-property hospitality setting.
- Strong commercial instinct with the ability to spot opportunities in complex data sets and act decisively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with formulas, pivot tables, and large data models.
- Proven leadership capability, with experience guiding peers or small teams towards shared revenue objectives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, comfortable presenting recommendations to senior management and external partners.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving mindset, able to prioritise competing demands in a fast-moving operational environment.
- Familiarity with property management systems, revenue management software, and booking channels is expected for this level of role.
