Role Overview
This role focuses on driving profitable growth within selected industry sectors by identifying and executing new business opportunities over a 12- to 24-month horizon. Day-to-day work involves monitoring market trends, developing cost models for new initiatives, and managing intelligence systems that inform strategic decisions. Success here directly influences the company’s ability to expand its market footprint and strengthen its competitive position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement business plans that convert market opportunities into measurable sales growth and margin improvement.
- Track economic developments and competitor activity, translating findings into actionable analysis for leadership.
- Evaluate potential products, services, and partner companies to inform go/no-go decisions on new ventures.
- Build and oversee a market intelligence framework that supplies timely, relevant data to sales and strategy teams.
- Cultivate lasting relationships with key customers, leveraging subordinate teams and formal stakeholder channels to maximise account performance.
- Coordinate closely with regional sales channels to ensure alignment between local execution and sector-level goals.
- Lead, coach, and motivate field sales executives and account managers, ensuring they meet individual and team targets.
- Identify process gaps or inefficiencies and drive cross-departmental projects to improve operational effectiveness.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 7–8 years of experience in trade or distribution channels, with at least 3 years managing a business at the country level.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Sales & Marketing, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Fluent business English (both written and spoken) with strong presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, for analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated people management skills, including coaching and performance management of sales teams.
- Solid understanding of supply chain concepts, logistics workflows, and their impact on customer service.
- Proven analytical thinking, with the ability to spot trends and make data-driven recommendations.
- Self-starter mindset, comfortable working independently and proactively driving initiatives.
