Role Overview
This driver position keeps people, supplies, and official documents moving safely between offices, field sites, and partner locations. The post holder operates organisation vehicles under national traffic rules, donor expectations, and internal transport procedures, while also handling basic vehicle upkeep and administrative errands. Because programme delivery depends on timely and secure movement, the role directly supports operational continuity, asset protection, and audit-ready transport records.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive assigned vehicles for staff, visitors, consultants, and authorised personnel, applying defensive driving and maintaining awareness of road, weather, and security conditions.
- Complete daily checks before and after trips, keep vehicles clean and roadworthy, and report mechanical faults or maintenance needs without delay.
- Transport programme materials, supplies, parcels, and correspondence to field offices, partner sites, and official meetings as directed.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks covering trips, destinations, mileage, and fuel use; submit monthly transport records on time; and keep documentation complete for donor, audit, and internal review.
- Report accidents, near misses, security incidents, and vehicle defects immediately through the correct internal channels.
- Support light administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, filing, document delivery, and distribution of internal or programme materials.
- Follow trip approval, route planning, insurance, registration, and statutory vehicle requirements, and help identify transport-related risks.
- Take part in mandatory safety, safeguarding, and driver training; follow protection standards for vulnerable people; and uphold confidentiality, integrity, and professional conduct.

- Licences and certifications: Valid driving licence for classes B, C, and E or equivalent; valid AA Driving Certificate or comparable defensive driving certification; valid Police Clearance Certificate.
