Role Overview
This Tutorial Fellow position in Pharmaceutics focuses on teaching, research, and innovation within a pharmacy programme. You will deliver assigned units, create and refresh course content, assess students through a mix of exams and clinical simulations, and supervise their research and clinical placements. The role is pivotal for connecting academic training with industry needs, boosting graduate employability, and sustaining a vibrant research and enterprise ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach pharmacy units assigned by the Head of Department, ensuring material is current, evidence-based, and professionally relevant.
- Design, develop, plan, and deliver study programmes, including new courses at different academic levels.
- Deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions that build students' theoretical and clinical skills.
- Assess student performance via examinations, objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs), coursework, and practical evaluations.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and clinical placements.
- Review and update course content and learning materials regularly, and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design and research initiatives.
- Conduct research, write grant proposals, pursue consultancy work, and present findings at national or international conferences, symposia, and webinars.
- Mentor students and staff, offer career guidance, and handle other duties as assigned by supervisors or detailed in the job description.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Pharmaceutics, Industrial Pharmacy, or Pharmaceutical Technology from an accredited or recognised university.
- A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited or recognised university.
- At least three years of post-qualification work experience.
- A valid Pharmacy and Poisons Board Practice License.
- Proven ability to bridge academia and industry, with a student-centric approach and entrepreneurial acumen.
