Job Description

Role Overview

This strategic leadership role drives the entire corporate strategy function for a high-growth clean-energy manufacturer operating across multiple emerging markets. Day to day, you will partner closely with the CEO and executive team to define long-term priorities, evaluate new markets and business models, and lead complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution. Your work directly shapes where and how the company grows, ensuring every strategic decision is grounded in rigorous analysis, aligned with financial goals, and executed with accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the annual strategic planning cycle, translating high-level priorities into concrete, measurable action plans and OKRs across the organisation.
  • Identify and assess new growth opportunities — including geographic expansion, adjacent product categories, and alternative business models — through detailed market assessments and feasibility studies.
  • Develop and manage high-impact partnerships with corporate allies, development agencies, investors, and government bodies to improve market access, distribution, financing, and customer reach.
  • Lead enterprise‑wide financial analysis and business modelling to support major strategic decisions, investment cases, and capital‑allocation recommendations.
  • Drive transformation programs from initiation to delivery, establishing governance structures, tracking performance, and intervening when execution risks emerge.
  • Build and maintain a strategic market intelligence capability that monitors competitive dynamics, regulatory shifts, and technology trends, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Prepare board‑level presentations, strategic updates, investment memoranda, and performance reviews to support executive and board decision‑making.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high‑performing strategy team, embedding a culture of data‑driven thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement across the broader organisation.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Strategy, or a closely related field. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is strongly preferred.
  • 12–15 years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, corporate development, business transformation, or investment analysis, including direct work with executive leadership and boards.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing enterprise‑level growth strategies in high‑growth, multinational, or emerging‑market environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross‑functional strategic initiatives and organisational change programs from ideation through implementation.
  • Experience in clean energy, climate technology, consumer products, development finance, or other emerging‑market sectors is highly valued.
  • Advanced financial modelling, scenario planning, and business case development skills, with the ability to translate quantitative analysis into compelling strategic narratives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing abilities, comfortable operating at executive and board levels, with outstanding written and verbal communication.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ownership, resilience, and comfort navigating ambiguity. A willingness to challenge conventional thinking and champion innovative solutions.

What We Offer / Why Join

While specific salary, benefits, and visa details are not provided in the source, this role offers the chance to shape strategy at a mission‑driven organisation focused on clean energy and climate impact across multiple emerging economies. You will work directly with the CEO and executive leadership, influence investment decisions, and build a strategy function from a position of strong organisational support. The work is intellectually demanding, commercially meaningful, and directly tied to measurable social and environmental outcomes.
