BURN designs, manufactures, and distributes aspirational fuel-efficient cooking products aimed at saving lives and forests in the developing world. The company revolutionized the global cookstove sector by proving a business case for selling high-quality, locally manufactured, unsubsidized stoves. Since 2013, BURN has sold over 200,000 such stoves in East Africa, reaching more than 1,000,000 beneficiaries. These stoves have saved $39 million in fuel expenditures and 626,221 tons of wood, while reducing indoor air pollution by 65%. BURN currently sells approximately 10,000 stoves per month and plans to double sales by the end of 2017.
