Role Overview
This field-based sales position is centred on growing the subscriber base for fixed wireless and telecom services while keeping existing customers connected and satisfied. The person in this seat spends most of their time in the market — meeting prospects, running activations, guiding new customers through sign-up and verification, and resolving early service issues so accounts stay active. Success here directly affects revenue, customer trust, and how quickly the company can expand into new neighbourhoods and estates.
Key Responsibilities
- Hit daily, weekly, and monthly acquisition targets by converting prospects in assigned territories through door-to-door visits, roadshows, estate drives, and mall activations.
- Walk new subscribers through every onboarding step: identity checks, KYC documentation, service education, and expectation setting for installation and billing.
- Work with the sales lead or line manager to plan, launch, and adjust local campaigns based on territory performance and customer feedback.
- Keep acquisition and onboarding timelines on track, flagging delays or SLA misses and following up until each case is closed.
- Retrieve company devices from customers who fall outside compliance or payment terms, following recovery procedures and documenting each action.
- Act as the first point of contact for customer questions, perform basic troubleshooting for connectivity or account issues, and route complex network or service problems to the right support team.
- Compile daily activity and target results, prepare weekly dashboard inputs, and contribute monthly market trend analysis for management review.
- Track competitor offers, pricing, and field activity, then share customer insights that inform product recommendations and sales tactics.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- At least one year in outdoor or field sales, ideally within telecom, fixed wireless, or a similar subscription-based service.
- Working knowledge of telecom and fixed wireless market dynamics, including 5G services, device options, packages, and commission structures.
- Commercial judgment: able to read local competition, explain value propositions, and tailor offers without heavy supervision.
- Comfort with mobile sales tools, CRM entries, and basic reporting; tech-savvy enough to explain 5G and fixed wireless setup to non-technical customers.
- Resilience and stamina to keep prospecting through rejection and to perform against stretch targets.
- Entrepreneurial approach — spots opportunities in a territory, takes ownership, and acts without waiting for step-by-step direction.
- Strong planning and organisational habits, with the ability to manage a pipeline, schedules, and follow-ups across multiple locations.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic; works well independently but coordinates smoothly with line management and support teams.
