Role Overview
This is a field-based sales position for someone who prefers being out in the market over sitting behind a desk. You will own the full loop of winning new subscribers and keeping them — from the first conversation at a roadshow or estate activation through to a clean, compliant handover and any follow-up support they need afterwards. The role sits at the front line of the company's growth in fixed wireless and 5G home and business connectivity, so the conversations you have and the market signals you feed back directly shape where the business pushes next.
Key Responsibilities
- Hunt for and close new subscriber sign-ups across assigned territories, working door-to-door, at roadshows, estate activations, mall campaigns and other on-ground events you help plan and run.
- Walk every new customer through the paperwork properly — identity verification, KYC checks, contract terms and a clear explanation of what they have bought and how to use it — so activations stand up to audit and customers start off informed rather than confused.
- Keep a close eye on how long each stage of acquisition and onboarding takes, flagging anything that drifts past agreed service levels so it can be fixed before the customer walks away.
- Act as the first point of contact when an existing customer hits a snag: run basic diagnostics, resolve what you can on the spot, and route anything beyond your remit to the right technical or network team with enough detail for them to act.
- Chase down and recover equipment from customers who fall outside compliance or contract terms, documenting each case as you go.
- Pull together your daily numbers against target and build the weekly dashboard your manager reviews, adding ad-hoc reports when a live campaign or a new territory needs a closer look.
- Keep tabs on what competitors are doing locally — pricing, promotions, device offers — and report back what you see, along with customer feedback that points to a product, package or service worth adding.
- Work with your line manager to design, launch and track sales initiatives, then adjust your approach based on what the numbers actually say.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A graduate degree or diploma in Business Administration, or equivalent practical grounding in a commercial role.
- At least one year of outdoor or field sales experience; a background in telecom or a comparable subscription-based industry is preferred.
- Comfortable reading a market commercially — you understand how competition, device ranges, package structures and commission schemes fit together and can use that to sell more effectively.
- Technically confident enough to explain and troubleshoot 5G and fixed wireless services without leaning on an engineer for every question.
- Track record of staying steady and productive when targets are stretched or a month gets off to a slow start.
- A self-starting, entrepreneurial streak — you spot an opportunity in a neighbourhood or customer segment and act on it rather than waiting for instructions.
- Strong planning and organisational habits: you can juggle a schedule of activations, follow-ups and reporting deadlines without letting details slip.
- Energetic, enthusiastic and genuinely motivated by performance, with the interpersonal skills to build quick rapport with a wide range of customers.
