Job Description

Role Overview

This position is the operational engine behind d.light's global credit agenda, turning strategy into disciplined execution across every market the company serves. You will spend your days reading portfolio performance, chasing open actions to completion, and connecting teams so that credit initiatives actually take hold in the field rather than stalling at the design stage. The work matters because healthy credit performance is what keeps affordable products flowing to customers who need them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and interpret weekly and monthly global credit performance reports, spotting early warning signs in underperforming markets, products, cohorts or customer segments, and preparing charts, scorecards and executive summaries for credit reviews, Credit Circles, leadership meetings and board discussions.
  • Partner with business intelligence teams to design, validate and refine performance trackers, dashboards and automated credit metrics, and support requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, issue resolution and adoption of new credit technology and digital workflows.
  • Run the day-to-day coordination of global credit initiative rollouts: maintain project plans, timelines, milestone trackers and action logs, follow up with owners until deliverables are closed, measure progress against agreed objectives, and escalate risks, delays or dependencies to the Credit Operations Senior Manager.
  • Act as a central link between Global Credit, operating company credit managers and customer-facing teams such as commercial, customer experience, aftersales and field collections, driving collection and performance improvement actions across markets and tracking actions from global and operating company reviews through to completion.
  • Oversee fraud management processes across operating companies, ensuring reporting lines, escalation paths and controls are clear and consistently followed.
  • Coordinate pilots and experiments from test cohort setup through data collection and performance readouts, documenting what worked so successful approaches can be replicated in other markets.
  • Develop and maintain credit SOPs, process documents, playbooks, training materials and a central repository of best practices and lessons learned, supporting standardisation of credit operations and operating practices across markets.
  • Support training and change management for new credit initiatives by coordinating with training teams, preparing FAQs, communication packs and implementation guides, tracking completion and readiness across operating companies, and feeding field feedback into future improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Credit or a related field; credit certifications are a strong plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in Credit, Collections, Business Operations, Analytics, Project Management or a related field.
  • Experience working with Africa-based operations, preferably within PayGo, financial services, fintech, asset finance or a comparable environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into practical operational insights and actions.
  • Strong Google Sheets skills and familiarity with data visualisation tools.
  • Experience working with BI or data teams and interpreting performance dashboards.
  • Strong project coordination and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
  • Self-driven, proactive and comfortable working with limited supervision.
