Your day-to-day work combines outpatient assessment, diagnostic interpretation, medical treatment, and operative management, helping patients improve function, comfort, and quality of life. This role is essential for providing timely specialty opinions and safe, evidence-based care that supports referring clinicians and strengthens overall patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients with hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, sinus disease, voice disorders, swallowing difficulties, airway concerns, and other ear, nose, and throat complaints.
  • Order and interpret audiograms, tympanometry, endoscopic examinations, imaging studies, and laboratory tests to confirm diagnoses and guide treatment plans.
  • Perform ENT surgical procedures such as tympanoplasty, septoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgery, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and biopsy or excision of head and neck lesions, according to privileges and scope of practice.
  • Treat acute and chronic ENT conditions, including infections, allergic disorders, airway problems, and head and neck masses, through medical and surgical pathways.
  • Conduct inpatient rounds, preoperative evaluations, and postoperative follow-up to monitor recovery and manage complications.
  • Work with audiology, speech therapy, oncology, radiology, anesthesia, and primary care teams to coordinate multidisciplinary patient care.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in quality improvement and infection control activities, and follow professional and ethical standards.
  • Provide clinical guidance and teaching to junior doctors, residents, and allied health staff as needed.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery or an equivalent medical qualification.
  • Master’s degree in Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.
  • Current registration with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
  • At least five years of relevant post-qualification experience in ENT clinical and surgical practice.
  • Subspecialty interest or additional training in an ENT discipline is an added advantage.
