Job Title: Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) Teacher
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver class teaching in line with the ECDE curriculum.
- Serve as a role model, provide guidance and counseling, mentor, and inspire learners.
- Prepare and submit reports as required.
- Ensure the safety and security of all learners at all times.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating play-based and learning activities for learners.
- Foster the holistic development of learners, including spiritual, moral, social, mental, physical, aesthetic, and emotional growth.
- Manage ECDE classes and maintain professional and administrative records such as schemes of work, lesson plans, daily programme of activities, and attendance registers.
- Develop and prepare play and learning materials to enhance the learning environment.
Requirements for Appointment
For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must possess the following:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D+ (Plus) or KCE Division IV at 'O' level.
- A Certificate in Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) offered by KNEC / Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent.
- Registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- A certificate in computer applications.
- A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the National Police Service.
- A valid medical report from a registered government health facility.
