Your attention to detail directly supports the institution’s financial integrity and the trust of its members.
Key Responsibilities

- Reconcile cash books against bank statements, investigating discrepancies and ensuring all ledger postings are correct.
- Manage journals and ledgers for the society, including sorting financial documents and routing them to the appropriate accounts.
- Prepare and process cheques, payment vouchers, and member refunds, while ensuring timely and accurate payment execution.
- Handle petty cash operations, including daily requisitions, issuance, and posting to relevant ledgers with proper documentation.
- Maintain and update stock records, conduct regular physical stock counts, and perform reconciliations to monitor all stock transactions.
- Assist senior finance staff with liquidity reports, statements of accounts, and data filing through the electronic document management system.
- Review system reports for accuracy, trace errors to their sources, and flag any ledger differences to the Chief Accountant while coordinating with the relevant departments to resolve them.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of CPA II/CIFA II, a Diploma in Accountancy, Finance & Banking, or a final-level CPA/CIFA qualification; a degree in a relevant field is also accepted.
- At least three years of experience in an accounting or financial institution, preferably within a SACCO or a finance/accounts department.
- KCSE mean grade of C (plain) or higher, with at least C (plain) in both Mathematics and English.
- Candidates must be above 24 years of age.
- Strong multitasking ability with close attention to detail and a meticulous approach to figures and records.
- Analytical skills for investigating discrepancies and identifying root causes of reporting errors.
- Effective communication and presentation skills for liaising with departments and senior staff.
- A demonstrated commitment to equity, transparency, confidentiality, and exemplary integrity in handling financial information.
