Communications Officer

Position Summary
The Communications Officer will play a key role in implementing the organization’s communications and branding strategy to enhance visibility, advocacy, fundraising, and programme impact.
The role focuses on storytelling, digital engagement, media relations, and donor visibility, ensuring consistent and impactful communication across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Develop high-quality communication materials including reports, stories, blogs, and multimedia content
- Produce compelling impact stories and case studies
Digital & Social Media Management
- Manage all social media platforms and website content
- Drive engagement, growth, and visibility through digital strategies
Media Relations
- Build relationships with media houses
- Coordinate press releases, interviews, and media coverage
Donor Visibility & Project Communications
- Support communication for donor-funded projects
- Ensure compliance with branding and visibility requirements
Strategic Communications & Branding
- Strengthen brand consistency across platforms
- Support organizational positioning and reputation management
Event & Advocacy Support
- Coordinate communication for events, campaigns, and advocacy initiatives
- Develop messaging and materials for stakeholder engagement
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, PR, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in communications or media
- Strong writing, storytelling, and digital communication skills
- Experience working in NGOs or development sector is an added advantage
- Proficiency in design and multimedia tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite)
