Role Overview
This position takes ownership of a dedicated portfolio of high-value banking clients, combining proactive outreach with structured financial planning to increase each customer’s engagement and product usage. The role is mobile by design, meaning you will meet clients at their preferred locations and times while coordinating with a supporting account executive. Your success is measured not only by sales growth but by the long-term satisfaction and loyalty of the clients you manage.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for assigned clients, initiating all necessary communication and ensuring their banking needs are met without friction.
- Proactively identify prospective clients through referrals from the existing portfolio and work to onboard close family members as part of a broader household banking strategy.
- Conduct thorough customer discussion documents for newly transferred clients, then track their engagement over the first 90 days to confirm continued funding, digital adoption, and product ownership.
- Drive portfolio growth by increasing assets, liabilities, and revenue per customer through targeted conversations and cross-selling across lending, deposits, and foreign exchange solutions.
- Monitor accounts within the portfolio—including zero-balance, low-funded, inactive, and overdrawn accounts—and take steps to encourage proper funding and activity.
- Schedule and carry out regular client meetings at the customer’s convenience, maintaining an up-to-date calendar to ensure consistent follow-through.
- Collaborate with specialist teams to fulfill complex client requests while managing the portfolio toward agreed income, balance sheet, and satisfaction targets.
- Adhere strictly to internal policies, audit standards, and regulatory requirements, reporting any risk events or compliance concerns immediately.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, management, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Approximately two years of experience in high-net-worth relationship management, private banking, luxury sales, or a comparable client-focused sales environment.
- Demonstrated success in meeting sales targets and delivering high-quality service, including experience resolving customer complaints and handling operational risk issues.
- Deep familiarity with the bank’s retail product set and services, with working knowledge of corporate and small business offerings.
- Hands-on competence with banking systems such as Flex, BOC, and IBOC, plus a clear understanding of retail processes, operating procedures, and audit requirements.
- Solid grasp of risk policies and the ability to comply with internal governance frameworks and head office directives.
- Awareness of the local competitor landscape and the bank’s strategic retail direction, including its operating structures and people policies.
- Previous team leadership experience is considered an advantage for this role.
