Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for four friendly and professional waitresses to join our busy food and beverage team in Kirigiti, Kiambu. You will be the first point of contact for guests, welcoming them into the restaurant, taking their orders accurately, serving meals and drinks promptly, and keeping the dining area clean and inviting throughout each shift. Your attentiveness and warm attitude directly shape the guest experience, helping the establishment maintain a strong reputation for quality hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests as they arrive, show them to suitable tables, and present current menus and drink lists without delay.
  • Explain daily specials and seasonal dishes clearly, including ingredients, portion sizes, and suggested beverage pairings.
  • Record orders carefully using the restaurant’s point-of-sale system, noting any allergy information or dietary adjustments for the kitchen team.
  • Carry prepared meals and beverages from the kitchen and bar to the correct tables while following safe serving techniques.
  • Set up tables before each service period with clean linens, polished cutlery, spotless glassware, and fully stocked condiment holders.
  • Clear used plates, glasses, and napkins during service, then wipe and sanitize tables promptly after guests leave.
  • Keep side stations and dining areas organised and fully supplied so the floor operates smoothly during both lunch and evening shifts.
  • Deliver itemised bills to guests, process payments accurately through cash, card, or mobile money, and check back throughout the meal to ensure satisfaction.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Certificate in hospitality management, food and beverage service, catering, or a related field from a recognised training institution.
  • Previous experience as a waitress, server, or dining room attendant in a restaurant, café, hotel, or catering environment is preferred, though strong entry-level candidates with solid hospitality fundamentals will also be considered.
  • Fluent spoken communication skills in both Swahili and English to interact confidently with guests and kitchen staff.
  • Must be able to commute to Kirigiti, Kiambu for regular daily shifts.
  • Immaculate personal grooming and hygiene, with a neat appearance and strict adherence to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Comfort using basic digital ordering systems and handling cash, card, and mobile payments accurately.
  • Patient, energetic, and courteous temperament, especially during peak mealtimes when the floor is busy.

What We Offer / Why Join

  • Practical exposure to professional food and beverage service, guest handling, and modern POS workflows.
  • A supportive team environment where kitchen and service staff work closely to deliver memorable hospitality.
  • Room to build foundational experience that can lead to senior waitstaff, floor captain, or supervisory roles in the future.
  • A gross monthly salary of between KShs 14,000 and 15,000 for the right candidate.
