Job Description

HCS Affiliates Group, a leading human resources and management consultancy in Nairobi, is recruiting on behalf of our client, a premier telecommunications provider. We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Trade Development Representative (TDR) to support channel growth in the Mandela/Mandera region.

Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, the TDR will drive retailer awareness, accelerate SIM and float turnover, and ensure high-impact visibility and merchandising at point-of-purchase for SSOs and T-Kash agents.

This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional with experience in FMCG or telecom distribution to make a measurable impact on channel performance and business growth.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a sales and distribution role within FMCG or telecommunications.
  • Strong customer focus and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Proven influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build networks and partnerships with channel partners.
  • Analytical mindset with sound problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, and map SSO and T-Kash agents, targeting mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
  • Execute regular agent and SSO visitations according to agreed beat plans to meet call-rate targets.
  • Deliver and maintain all transaction tools at SSO and agent outlets; train SSOs and T-Kash agents on relevant processes.
  • Train agents on AML compliance and SSOs on KYC/SIM registration requirements.
  • Monitor and enforce the 1.5x stock rule; ensure SSOs maintain adequate SIM stock for new registrations and activations.
  • Develop and maintain merchandising standards by providing and positioning materials at SSO and agent outlets.
