Role Overview
As a Direct Sales Representative, you will be the face of our client’s banking business in the field, spending your days prospecting for new customers, opening accounts, and helping individuals and businesses get the most from the bank’s products. You will own your own pipeline and work independently to grow deposits, disburse quality loans, and deepen customer relationships. This role is central to expanding the bank’s customer base and revenue, so your ability to sell, engage, and retain clients directly shapes the bank’s growth and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect for and acquire new customers through field visits, referrals, networking, and community engagement, then guide them through a compliant, high-quality account opening process.
- Onboard new and existing customers onto the bank’s digital channels—such as mobile banking, internet banking, and card services—and make sure they understand and actively use those tools.
- Drive deposit mobilization and facilitate quality loan disbursement to both individual and business customers, meeting the targets set for your portfolio.
- Cross-sell the bank’s full product range by matching solutions to each customer’s needs and financial goals.
- Deliver responsive, knowledgeable customer service, creatively engaging clients on the products and services available to them.
- Implement retention strategies by regularly sensitizing customers to the bank’s product portfolio, checking in on their satisfaction, and collecting feedback to share with your supervisor for action.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and submit daily, weekly, and monthly activity and performance reports to your line manager.
- Stay current on industry rules and regulations, ensuring every sale, account, and loan complies with banking standards and internal policies.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by your supervisor or line manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as marketing, finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.
- Demonstrable experience in a sales role, with a track record of working toward and meeting targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and sustain relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to handle objections and close deals.
- Good networking and people management abilities, including the capacity to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially when assessing customer needs or handling loan and account issues.
- Working knowledge of industry rules and regulations relevant to banking sales, account opening, and lending.
- A results-driven, customer-focused mindset, with the resilience to keep prospecting and the discipline to maintain accurate reports.
